Modernisation and automation of existing gate and barrier system
Korszerű kapu- és sorompóautomatizálás a Betatherm miskolci telephelyén a TELL Gate Control PRO eszközzel, növelve a beléptetés hatékonyságát és biztonságát.
Phase One
Modernization and automation of the gate control system and barrier at the Miskolc site.
Task:
The task is to modernize the sliding gate control system at Betatherm’s Miskolc site by integrating the TELL Gate Control PRO 1000 4G module. This allows the gate to be controlled via free mobile calls or a mobile application, while retaining the use of existing remote controls. Additionally, the barrier will be automated with a license plate recognition system, improving the efficiency of the site’s access control process.
Client's requirements:
- During the day, the external gate remains open continuously.
- The barrier operates based on license plate recognition for both entry and exit. For unknown license plates, visitors will ring the bell, and the barrier will be opened from inside via Gate Control, which will then close automatically.
- At the end of the day, the last person leaving will close the external gate using Gate Control.
- At night, both the gate and the barrier remain closed, and the gate can be opened using Gate Control.
- In the morning, the first person arriving will open the gate with Gate Control, after which it stays open. Meanwhile, the barrier opens and closes based on license plate recognition.
Implementation:
The Gate Control PRO 1000 module was installed separately from the gate controller in a grey, outdoor, IP56-rated plastic connection box, with its own independent power supply. The PRO module provides feedback on the gate's closed position via a mobile application. An additional device was also installed to enable feedback on the closed position. For the barrier, a license plate recognition camera was installed on the external side to automatically allow access for authorized vehicles. Another camera was installed on the exit side, which opens the barrier based on license plate recognition or vehicle detection analytics.
No vehicle detection loop was installed because the use of an asphalt cutter would have made the installation complicated and costly.
Phase Two
Installation of an intercom system at Betatherm’s Miskolc site.
Task:
An intercom system is to be installed between the external gate and the barrier, which has already been automated with license plate recognition cameras. The indoor unit (tablet) is portable within the office as it operates via WiFi. The intercom controls the barrier.
Implementation:
The outdoor unit was installed near the barrier, next to the gatehouse, and connected to the barrier. Inside the office, a 7-inch color video indoor unit with a desktop stand was installed.
Operation:
When someone rings the outdoor unit, the indoor unit in the office will ring, displaying both video and audio of the caller. The following options are available on the device:
- Audio and/or video communication with the person at the gate and control of the barrier.
- Communication without opening the gate.
- Opening the barrier based solely on the video image, without the need for verbal communication.
A snapshot is taken of each call, timestamped with the date and time.
The system is not only accessible via the tablet installed in the office but also through a mobile application. This allows incoming calls to be received on mobile devices, enabling two-way audio communication and video preview. Live video can also be accessed for surveillance or call monitoring, and the barrier can be controlled through the app.
