Smart Module MINI DIN rail - ETH.4G.IN6.R2
Ethernet and 4G communicator, controller and standalone 6-zone mini alarm panel in one device
The Smart Module MINI DIN rail (ETH.4G.IN6.R2) is a versatile DIN rail-mounted communication and control module. It can be used as a standalone event reporting device or as an independent 6-zone mini alarm panel with arming and disarming functions. The module features 6 dry contact inputs and 2 relay outputs. It supports both wired Ethernet and 4G mobile connectivity, with each connection serving as a backup for the other to ensure continuous availability.
The module offers configurable event-based notifications (SMS, phone calls, email, push notifications and voice messages), alarm reporting to monitoring centres (via SIA IP DC-09, TELLMon and TEX protocols, as well as DTMF-based Contact ID voice calls), IP camera integration and remote monitoring through the TELL Control Center mobile app. It is an ideal solution for the standalone protection of smaller premises, as well as industrial and building monitoring and automation applications.
Dual Ethernet and 4G connectivity
The module has both a wired Ethernet and a 4G mobile internet connection. If the wired internet fails, mobile internet automatically takes over communication, so event reporting and remote access remain uninterrupted.
Standalone 6-zone mini alarm panel
With 6 contact inputs and flexibly configurable arming/disarming modes, the module can be used on its own to protect smaller properties, without a separate alarm panel.
Multiple notification and reporting channels
Configurable per event: SMS (up to 10 numbers), call (up to 10 numbers, with uploadable voice messages), email (up to 4 addresses), push notification (up to 4 users), as well as IP-based and DTMF Contact ID reporting to monitoring stations.
Remote control by call and SMS
Arming, disarming, status queries and output control can be performed remotely with DTMF commands during a phone call or by SMS, with password protection.
Monitoring via mobile app
With the TELL Control Center mobile app (Android 8+, iOS 12+), the module can be accessed from up to 4 mobile devices, with QR code registration, push notifications and remote arming/disarming.
IP camera integration
Up to 4 ONVIF-compliant IP cameras can be assigned to events: in the event of an alarm, the camera image or live view link automatically appears in the push notification or email.
TELL Control Center mobile app
The Smart Module MINI can be monitored and controlled remotely with the TELL Control Center mobile app: you can view the status of inputs and outputs, arm and disarm the module, receive push notifications and display the images of assigned IP cameras. The app is paired with the module by scanning a QR code, from up to 4 mobile devices at the same time. Minimum system requirements: Android 8 or iOS 12.
Who is it for?
The Smart Module MINI DIN rail is recommended primarily for those looking for a reliable event reporting and control module with dual connectivity (Ethernet + 4G) – either as an add-on to an existing alarm system or as a standalone solution.
- standalone 6-zone alarm protection for smaller properties, shops and sites, without purchasing a separate alarm panel,
- monitoring stations and integrators receiving reports via SIA IP DC-09, TELLMon or TEX protocol,
- industrial automation and building management tasks that require remote or event-based control of relay outputs,
- installers looking for a device that fits in a DIN rail enclosure and can be programmed via USB and the internet.
Key features of the Smart Module MINI
CONTROL AND ALARM
Can also be used as a standalone 6-zone alarm panel
The Smart Module MINI can be operated as a standalone communicator or as a standalone 6-zone alarm panel with arming and disarming. The module has 6 potential-free (NO/NC) contact inputs and 2 relay outputs (max. load 1A/24V DC/AC).
Multiple arming and disarming modes
Several arming/disarming logics are available to suit different requirements:
- Always armed: the inputs continuously act as 24-hour zones, without arming/disarming.
- Two-position contact: the module is armed/disarmed by a two-position switch or relay output (e.g. key switch) via input IN6.
- Pulse on one or two inputs: the module is armed and disarmed with a short pulse from a push button or monostable relay output (on input IN6 or inputs IN5+IN6).
- Remote arming/disarming only: all inputs can be used for reporting; arming/disarming is performed only by call, SMS or the programming software.
Any device with a contact output can be used for contact-based arming/disarming: keypad lock, card reader, RF remote control, key switch or a simple push button.
Output control configurable per event
The 2 relay outputs can be assigned to any input, service or custom event, with several control modes (e.g. bistable on/off or timed, monostable activation). This makes the module suitable not only for alarm signalling but also for automation and control tasks (e.g. switching equipment, lighting or pumps).
NOTIFICATIONS AND REPORTING
SMS, email, push and call notifications for every event
Users can be notified of every event with a configurable message:
- SMS with configurable text, to up to 10 phone numbers,
- email with configurable text, to up to 4 addresses,
- push notification with configurable text, to up to 4 mobile app users,
- voice call to up to 10 phone numbers, with 15 uploadable voice messages of 10 seconds each.
Reporting to monitoring stations via IP and DTMF voice call
The module can send reports to up to 4 IP addresses/domains of monitoring servers or receivers, using SIA IP (DC-09), TELLMon or TEX protocol over TCP or UDP, with optional AES encryption (for SIA IP). Reports can also be sent by voice call using the DTMF-based Contact ID protocol to up to 2 phone numbers.
A custom Contact ID event code can be configured for each event, with partition and zone number settings.
Notification templates and priorities
Up to 10 notification templates can be assigned to events. These define the priorities and retry order of the reporting channels used for sending reports to the monitoring station.
Input, service and custom events
Three event groups are available in the module: input events generated by activating the contact inputs, service events generated automatically by the module (e.g. arming, disarming, GSM, mobile internet or Ethernet failure, low supply voltage), and custom events generated by a freely configurable command sent to the module by SMS. With custom events, an SMS command can trigger reporting to the monitoring station, user notification, output control, or arming and disarming of the module.
USERS AND REMOTE CONTROL
TELL Control Center mobile app
The module can be used with the TELL Control Center mobile app (Android 8 or iOS 12 minimum), which allows up to 4 mobile devices to be connected to the module via QR code registration. The app lets you receive push notifications and monitor and control the module remotely.
Remote control with DTMF commands during a phone call
After calling the number of the SIM card inserted in the module, you can use the phone keypad (DTMF commands) to enter the password, arm and disarm the module, query the arming status and GSM signal strength, and control the relay outputs and query their status. The module confirms responses with beeps.
DTMF transmission works reliably over 4G networks via VoLTE calls; over 2G networks it may be unreliable depending on call conditions and voice quality.
Remote control by SMS
The module can also be controlled and queried with SMS commands: arming (ARM), disarming (DISARM), switching the relay outputs on and off in bistable or timed (1–3600 seconds) monostable mode, and full status query (inputs, outputs, arming status, signal strength). Commands can be protected with a password (PWD); for commands from unauthorised phone numbers, the password is mandatory.
Permission management – Superadmin and Admin
The module is protected by Superadmin and Admin passwords. The Superadmin user can configure which settings the Admin user can access; settings marked as protected can only be changed by the Superadmin. The module can also report changes to protected settings with a “Settings changed” service event.
IP CAMERA AND ADDITIONAL FEATURES
Assign up to 4 ONVIF IP cameras to events
Up to 4 ONVIF-compliant IP cameras can be configured for the module and assigned to events. For email notifications, the URL of the assigned camera is also sent when the event occurs; for push notifications, the camera image can be viewed directly in the mobile app. To obtain the camera access paths, you can use the manufacturer’s own “IP Camera Detector” program or the “ONVIF Device Manager” software.
Under Voltage Lock Out (UVLO)
The module features Under Voltage Lock Out: if the supply voltage drops below a critical level, it switches off automatically and switches back on when the operating voltage is restored.
INSTALLATION AND OPERATION
DIN rail mountable, with flexible power supply
The Smart Module MINI is DIN rail mountable and can be powered from 12-30V DC or 12-24V AC. Its standby current consumption is 130mA and can reach 500mA during communication. The manufacturer recommends its own TT25VA-12V5 power supply; powering from the AUX output of an alarm panel is not recommended.
Programming via USB and the internet
The module can be configured with the manufacturer’s programming software via USB or over the internet (via cloud service or direct connection). The programming software runs on Windows 10 (32/64 bit) and can be downloaded from the manufacturer’s website ([www.tell.hu](https://www.tell.hu)).
Firmware update and factory reset
The module firmware can be updated via USB or remotely over the internet. The module can be reset to factory defaults with the programming software or by pressing the PB button on the device for at least 8 seconds – this deletes all settings, the event log and the module passwords.
